Rev. Kara Eidson grew up in the Kansas City Metro area. She earned her undergraduate in Psychology at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, and her Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. After finishing seminary, she returned to the Kansas City area and served one year as a chaplain resident at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She then served as Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence for two years. Kara and her husband Mike Lee were married in 2008. In 2010, she was ordained as an elder in The United Methodist Church, and was appointed to WesleyKU, the UMC campus ministry at KU. In 2014 she began serving as the pastor at Spring Hill UMC and Bucyrus UMC, congregations on the southern end of the Kansas City Metro area. She enjoys reading, baking, and volunteers coaching fastpitch softball. She loves NCAA basketball and is, along with her entire family, an avid Royals fan. In the warmer months of the year, Kara and Mike both love spending time tending to their backyard garden and their small flock of 4 chickens.
